ColorPlus & Primed Options

Color with a Clear Care Plan.

Available ColorPlus finishes are applied at the factory for a consistent finish designed to resist fading. Primed products offer a different finishing approach, with a suitable paint system applied as specified.

Fiber cement still needs periodic cleaning and attention to finishes, joints, and surrounding details. We explain care recommendations and the applicable written substrate and finish warranties for the product you choose.

Review physical samples before selecting a color. Screen images and lighting can change how a finish appears.

Your Questions, Clearly Answered

Siding FAQ

Is fiber cement the same as vinyl siding?

No. Fiber cement is a different cladding material with its own weight, finishing, fastening, and installation requirements. Vinyl and fiber cement also have different upkeep and budget considerations.

What is ColorPlus Technology?

It is an available James Hardie factory-applied finish designed for consistent color and resistance to fading. Availability, care, touch-up, and warranty terms depend on the selected product.

Does fiber cement siding provide wall insulation?

The siding itself is not a replacement for a wall-insulation plan. We review any proposed exterior insulation separately, together with attachment, moisture control, and the selected siding system.

Is fiber cement maintenance-free?

No exterior is completely maintenance-free. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and finish-care guidance, and periodically review joints, sealants, clearances, and surrounding drainage details. Repainting may be needed over time.

Can fiber cement coordinate with other exterior materials?

Yes. We can help you plan fiber cement siding with your roof, windows, doors, masonry, and trim. The dormer project shown above combines James Hardie siding with standing seam metal roofing.

How much does fiber cement siding cost?

Wall area, access, product and finish, removal, repairs, trim, and flashing all affect the price. We provide a clear estimate based on the design and scope for your home.
